TREADING/NEWS: What Boko Haram leader, Abubakar Shekau said about US $7m bounty

Boko Haram expert Bulama Bukarti has taken to twitter to reveal what Abubakar Shekau had said about the bounty that was placed for his capture by the United States of America.
Reports were rife today that the US Department of State has pledged a $7 million bounty for anyone who provides information that would lead to the arrest of Boko Haram leader, Abubakar Shekau. While this report stirred debates over the inability of the military find out the terrorist kingpin, Bulama has noted that the aforementioned report is an one old.

Bukarti, who is a human rights Lawyer and Boko Haram expert, called out journalists for failing to research on the report before laying it bare to the public today. He cited two reports indicating that the said bounty was offered by the USA in 2013.

He further revealed that Shekau ” challenged the offer in a video saying the US can’t harm him except with the will of Allah”. Although the offer on his head is still in place, the dreaded leader of the terrorist organisation is still in hiding.

Hopefully, Shekau would be found out sooner and an end to this senseless killings and destruction will come in place.

Kindly share your thought on this.
